My guess is that my mother and I were out for a walk in town, and were approached by an enterprising photographer, looking to pose an eye-catching shot for the newspaper (back in the days when each town had a reporter assigned to it, and a gossip column written daily).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I came upon this picture, I wondered how old I was at the time. I turned the paper over to see if there was a date on it, and (lo and behold), there was a reference to another kind of trap! but no date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"718\" height=\"999\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Review.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Review.jpg 718w, https:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Review-216x300.jpg 216w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 718px) 100vw, 718px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the miracle of the internet, I was able to locate a reference (on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"collectors.com (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.collectors.com\/entertainment-item\/the-tender-trap-berkshire-playhouse-theatre-playbill-august\/6639549728968409272\" target=\"_blank\">collectors.com<\/a>) to an old playbill, and that gave me the approximate date (August 1955).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Playbill.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Playbill.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Playbill-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mfw.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Tender-Trap-Playbill-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I came across this yellowed and torn newsprint, probably ripped from the Berkshire Eagle by my mother and stashed away amidst the scrapbooks and mementos she kept about me.
